Seascape, Aurora in a Silver Ocean.
by Clina Polloni.

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, Palm Beach, FL.
Original oil painting by Clina Polloni.
Oil on Canvas, 18”x 24”
“It was a beautiful sunset in Palm Beach Florida. A transition from blues, to yellows and oranges. And in the center standing tall was the red Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.”
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is located in Palm Beach, Florida, on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. Standing at 108′. The site for the lighthouse was chosen in 1853. It is located between Cape Canaveral Light and Hillsboro Inlet Light.
Instructions, this painting can be done in acrylics or oils:
- Start by drawing the lighthouse, sky and trees.
- Do your under-paint or imprimatura with a wash of acrylic gold. Acrylics are very good for under-painting because they dry faster. They create a worm color that once you put the oils or acrylics in the top, they look brighter.
Start painting in the following order because it is going to be easier for you:
- Using oils or acrylics, start painting the sky with the beautiful sunset.
- Continue with the lighthouse, landscape with palm trees, trees and bushes.
- Sign your work of art.
Oils or Acrylics Colors:
- Titanium White
- Cadmium Yellow Light
- Cadmium Yellow Medium
- Cadmium Orange
- Carmine or Cadmium Red Medium

- Ultramarine Blue
- Sap Green
- Thalo Green
- Greenish Umber or Deep Green

Brushes, multi-purpose, polyvalent. There is a 10pc “Artist’s Loft” that provides most of the brushes for the beginning or the Pro Stroke-Power Creative Mark of Jerry’s Arterama. Also Wal-Mart has some fine and medium gold taklon brushes.
For Oil paintings, the best media is Refined Linseed Oil with Refined Turpentine. To clean the brushes Turpernoi. I have some glass containers to mix media.

Ocracoke Island Lighthouse NC.
Original oil painting by Clina Polloni.
Oil on Canvas, 24”x 36”
Beautiful sunset in contrast with the white lighthouse.
“The texture of the walls of the lighthouse were so interesting that in order to accomplished, I used super heavy gesso. I am proud to add this painting to the collection of oil paintings that I am doing about North Carolina. Ocracoke Island is an enchanting place with its natural beauty, the long-ago tales of pirates and ships, an inspiration for us artists.”
Ocracoke Island Lighthouse located in the Outer Banks, is North Carolina’s oldest lighthouse in operation, (and the second oldest in the United States). At just 65′ ft. tall, it is the smallest lighthouse on the Outer Banks, but its beacon can be spotted up to 14 miles into the Pamlico Sound and the Atlantic Ocean.

Learn to Paint A Pet Portrait. Progression and Supply.
By Artist Clina Polloni.
Buffy was a Gold Labrador Retriever.
When I was commissioned to paint Buffy’s oil Pet Portrait, I was fascinated by the beauty of this Gold Labrador Retriever. The expression of her eyes was all about love and caring for her family. Painting her eyes and the many colors of his hair was a wonderful experience. I put her in a background of white snow because she loved to play in it.
Canvas: 16″x 20″
Instructions and Progression:
- Draw and paint the under-paint: It was done in acrylics because they dry faster and it gives you the opportunity to paint immediately. Use Raw Sienna mixed with Titanium White.
- Paint the background: Start by painting the snow using oil painting.
- Start up with Buffy’s face: Put special detail in the eyes, hair and nose. It will give you a better understanding of her features.
- Paint Buffy’s body: Taking advantage of the texture and the many gold tones of her hair.
Colors:
- Titanium White
- Flesh, Portrait Pink or Pale Pink
- Cadmium Yellow Light
- Cadmium Yellow Medium
- Yellow Ochre
- Raw Sienna
- Van Dyck Brown
- Royal Blue
- Prussian Blue
- Ivory Black
