Las Perlas del Sur-Oil painting by Clina Polloni.

Seascapes of fishing boats from the south of Chile called Lanchas Chilotas. As the sunrise, they are waiting for a busy day in the cold sea.

Fishing in Chile is a major industry with the seventh largest commercial catch in the world. The Chilean Sea is considered among the most productive marine ecosystems in the world. Artisanal fishing is practiced all over Chile’s long coastline and combines industrial techniques with pre-Hispanic traditions.

Alberto Polloni Roldán. El Canelo, Chile.

The Polloni Family.

The day of my birthday, we went to climbed the mountains to visit my grandfather grave and home.

El Canelo, Chile.

He wanted his tomb to be in the top of the mountain with a view of his beautiful little town. Family, cousins and children got together in a tribute to a wonderful man, Alberto Polloni Roldán. El Canelo, Chile.

Casa de Campo en Chile

Casa de Campo, Chile in the 1800’s.

This painting was inspired by my life in Rabones, a valley of dreams located in the mountains of the central region of Chile. I lived for 10 years in our farm called “Las Puertas de Rabones”. I was close to God, to people, nature and to animals. Memories of golden sunny days, enjoying the company of beautiful people with spirits as clear as the crystal waters of “Rio Putagan” running through the fertile land. I learned about their culture, their traditions and the purity of their lives.

Supply: This painting can be done in 2 medias, Oil Paintings or Acrylics.

Acrylics: You can buy them at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. Jerry’s Arterama offers SOHO, Urban Artistic Acrylics. Excellent paintings, sold at a more reasonable price. 3060 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. (919) 876-6610.
Oil Paintings: You can buy them at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby, but again the most affordable ones are at Jerry’s Arterama and their brand is LUKAS.

NC Governor Roy Cooper’s Office Exhibition

Come to visit “The Market Girl” at the NC Governor Roy Cooper’s Office ART Exhibition.

Nine artists have been invited to exhibit at the entrance hall to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Market Girl Painting

The Market Girl Painting

“The Market Girl”: In the Hispanic culture it is a tradition to go to the market, where the local people bring their fresh fruits, vegetables and craft. This girl is proud to show her flowers and vegetables with her colorful hand netted ponchos in the back.

I did this painting when I went to Ecuador. Inspired by their colorful art and culture, very similar to most of the countries in South America.

Clina Polloni is a contemporary artist born in Chile. Her oil paintings are inspired by her love for people, animals and nature. Her new project: “The motif of the human figure in a dialogue with natures light and colors.” In these new paintings she is portraying people in their environment and activities, representing the American and Hispanic Culture.

Casa de Paja

Casa de Paja

A straw farm house painting in Chile by Clina Polloni.

Casa de Paja en Chile

Casa de Paja en Chile

In the early years of Chile, even in the 1800’s, farmers planted their wheat in the fields. This was one of their most important sources of food. They baked their bread in an open fire, prepared mote con huesillos and other culinary dishes. And when the harvest was all over, they built their thatched houses with straw.

I did this painting from a sketch that my great grandfather, Antonio Polloni did when traveling and painting the country side of Chile in the 1800’s.

Oil on Canvas – 36”x 30”

Exhibitions of the “Casa de Paja” painting:

  1. Dunn Center for the Performing Arts, North Carolina Wesleyan College. 2016 Christmas Art Show at The Civic Gallery.
  2. At the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts hosted the inaugural Wake Forest Guild of Artists and Wake Forest ARTS Art Exhibit on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016.
  3. At the Delta Fine Arts Gallery. HISPANIC ARTS INITIATIVE, Punto de Vista, Latino Perspective IV. At the Winston-Salem Delta Arts Center.

Clina Polloni is a contemporary artist born in Chile, winner of the Franklin County Art Council, NC. 2017 Artist Award. Her oil paintings are inspired by her love for people, animals and nature. Her new project: “The motif of the human figure in a dialogue with natures light and colors.” In these new paintings she is portraying people in their environment and activities, representing the American and Hispanic Culture.

This painting is inspired by a Chilean song:
