Portrait of Isabella

Portrait of Isabella de Polloni y Lepiani.

Isabella de Polloni y Lepiani.

Isabella de Polloni y Lepiani.

My family is a family of artists. From generations to generations, we had supported and embraced the ARTS.

The original Polloni family were merchants and artists that moved from Florence, Italy to Cádiz, Spain. In this city Francisco de Polloni y Lepiani was born in 1733. he moved to Chile in 1752, starting the genealogy of the Polloni family in Chile.

As a present to him, I had created a sister in a painting, her name is Isabella de Polloni y Lepiani, portraying her time in history, her loving expression of the eyes and smile.

Cat Oil Portraits

Cat Oil Portraits

The essence of painting a cat portrait is the expression of the eyes.

Eyes that express love for their family, always content and always ready to play. When I start painting a cat, I talk to their owners, I like to know all about their personalities, their life among the family and what makes them happy.

Let me paint a portrait of your cat in lively and colorful oil paintings. All I require from you is a good photograph to work from. Call me at 919-841-3132 or send me an email at clinapolloni@gmail.com

Pavement Portrait

Commissioned oil painting 11”x 14” by Clina Polloni

When Ashley commissioned me to paint Pavement, she told me. “I found her in the middle of the road in Louisburg, she was no bigger than a pine cone, covered in fleas and malnourished, I took her home bathed her and cleaned her up. Then bottle feed her until she was able to eat on her own. One November she was hit by a car, just her leg was hurt. The vet wanted to amputate her leg, but I wouldn’t let them. She got around just fine with that leg. She was my baby!!! She brought so much joy into my life and I’d like to have a painting done to remember her by.” Ashley Griffin.

Mr. Parker Portrait

Commissioned oil painting 11”x 14” by Clina Polloni.

When I was commissioned to paint Mr. Parker’s Pet Portrait, I was fascinated by the beauty of the gold tones of his tabby cat hair and the expression of his eyes. Painting his eyes and the many colors of his hair was a wonderful experience.

The Lost Colony Painting

The Lost Colony

Oil Painting by Clina Polloni. 16”x 20”.

The Lost Colony by Clina Polloni.

The Lost Colony by Clina Polloni.

Inspired by Eleanor Dare waiting for her father John White. Her story of hopes 1587.

This painting is FOR SALE, exhibited at local businesses in Wake Forest NC.

From the collection of “Colonial Life in North Carolina”.

Eleanor Dare of England, was a member of the Roanoke Colony and the daughter of John White, the colony’s governor. While little is known about her life, more is known about her than most of the sixteen other women who left England in 1587 as part of the Roanoke expedition. She married Ananias Dare. It is known that she gave birth to their daughter Virginia Dare on Roanoke Island, in what is now the state of North Carolina. The girl was the first child of English parents to be born in North America, on 18 August 1587, shortly after their arrival. Eleanor Dare, along with everyone else remaining in the “Lost Colony”, disappeared during the two years before her father was able to returned to the colony with supplies from England.

Araucana Hen Pet Portrait

Araucana Hen Pet Portrait.

Oil on canvas by Clina Polloni.

This is my pet chicken; she runs happy in the yard with her feathers flying in the wind. The Araucana is a breed of domestic chicken from Chile. Its name derives from the Araucanía region of Chile where it is believed to have originated. It lays blue-shelled eggs, one of very few breeds that do so.

Girl Making Butter Painting

This painting is about a girl concentrating in making butter. Children have always been my inspiration, portraying the innocence of their young life.

Also, my admiration for the beauty and history of North Carolina. Traveling through the mountains I admired the rocks formations and colors, from browns to yellows, greens, aquamarines and blues.

Clina Polloni is a contemporary artist born in Chile. Her oil paintings are inspired by her love for people, animals and nature. Her new project: “The motif of the human figure in a dialogue with natures light and colors.” In these new paintings she is portraying the people of North Carolina in their environment and activities, representing the colonial times and history of our state.

Instructions of how to do this painting:

  1. Start by drawing the girl and rocks setting defining the light and the shade. Look at image.
  2. Do your under-paint or imprimatura with a wash of acrylic gold and silver. Acrylics are very good for under-painting because they dry faster. They create a worm color that once you put the oils in the top, they look brighter.
  3. Apply a coat of heavy gesso in the walls to create texture.
