How to Paint a Sunflower

Painting Class Taught by Artist Clina Polloni.

Flower-Sunflower

Learn to paint a sunflower. This is a simple painting for a beginner artist. You will learn the basics of color mixing, blending and texture.

Supply for this painting:

Canvas: 11″x 14”

Black ultra fine point Sharpie.
Easel (a simple table metal easel is fine).
Paper towel.
For Acrylics: Plastic/paper plate and glass.
For Oils: Refined Linseed Oil with Turpernoi. To clean the brushes Turpernoi. Glass container to mix media.
Pencil and eraser.
Brushes: 1 fine #0 brush, 1 #2 and 1 #8 flat brushes, and 1 #2 round bristle brush.

Flower-Sunflower Under-paint

Colors:

1. Titanium White
2. Cadmium Yellow Light
3. Cadmium Yellow Medium
4. Cadmium Orange
5. Cadmium Red Light
6. Carmine or Cadmium Red Medium
7. Sap Green
8. Dark green or Prussian Green
9. Burnt Sienna
10. Burnt Umber or deep brown

This painting can be done in 2 medias, acrylics or oils.
