Painting Class taught by Clina Polloni. “A Colonial Kitchen”
I called this painting “A Colonial Kitchen” because it was done at the Riverbend Park in Louisburg NC, inspired by my dear friend of “The River of Yesteryears” festival.
Learn to draw and paint on a burlap canvas instruction:
- Draw the still life with a soft charcoal pencil from number 555 to 557 or 4B in the burlap canvas.
- Do your under-paint or imprimatura with a heavy coat of acrylics to smooth the burlap, using Yellow Ochre and Ivory Black. Put attention to lights and shadows. Acrylics are very good for under-painting because they dry faster. They create a worm color that once you put the oils in the top, they look brighter.
- Continue painting with oils or acrylics with the final colors. Blend these colors gracefully to create lights and shadows.
