1 Trace your drawing and start painting:
Easy Technique for starting artists that don’t want to draw. Need a 11”x14” canvas.
2 Learn the Square Grid Drawing Techniques:
Draw a square grid on both a reference image and your drawing surface, then focusing on each square individually to transfer the image proportionally. This method provides accurate scaling and proportioning, making it a helpful tool for artists of all skill levels. Need a 16″x 16″.
3 Learn inside the studio Plain Air techniques:
You will learn how to prepare your canvas, how to draw and paint your under-paint and finish your painting. Techniques, composition, light, textures and colors. Need a 16″x 16″. Learn more >>
Cherry Blossom Trees-Square Grid Drawing Technic
Supply for this painting:
Black ultra fine point Sharpie.
Easel (a simple table metal easel is fine).
Paper towel.
For Acrylics: Plastic/paper plate and glass.
For Oils: Refined Linseed Oil with Turpernoi. To clean the brushes Turpernoi. Glass container to mix media.
Pencil and eraser
Brushes: 1 fine #0 brush, 1 #2 and 1 #8 flat brushes, and 1 #2 round bristle brush.

- Cadmium Yellow Light
- Yellow Ochre
- Permanent Green or Phthalo Green
- Deep Green or Greenish Umber
- Magenta

- Burnt Sienna
- Deep Brown or Burnt Umber or Cassel Earth
- Ivory Black
This painting can be done in 2 medias, acrylics or oils.
