The old train depot remains one of the Town’s most recognizable landmarks of Franklinton NC, known as the Raleigh and Gaston Railroad Passenger Depot. It was built in 1886, and is a one-story, rectangular frame building with Italianate, Queen Anne, and Gothic Revival style design elements.

You are cordially invited to the Historic Preservation Architecture Event.

  3. famous and recognizable lighthouses in the world.
  4. “Sunset in Emerald Isle, NC”
  5. “Rose Color Peonies”. Flores para mi madre.
  6. “Aurora in a Silver Ocean”, The first lights of the morning at Emerald Isle, North Carolina.
  7. “Flowers of Love”, Small paintings inspired by the colors of spring.
  8. “Red & Yellow Peppers with Leaves”, Wonderful colors! The best ingredients to create
  9. an amazing dish.
  10. “Gold Pear with Leaves”, One of the fruits that I like the most to paint. Standing gold
  11. and juicy in the market ready for us to enjoy.
  12. “Miniature Quilt Blocks”, Early American Designs. These quilt blocks are a combination of acrylics and quilting material.

Hours: Open 362 days per year, closing for Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  Regular hours are from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday – Thursday & Saturday, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday, and from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday.  The Cotton Company is open from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. We open for extended evening hours during the Christmas Holiday season.

The River of Yesteryear has invited Clina Polloni and artists of the Wake Forest Guild of Artists and the Franklin County Art Council to participate in this historical event.

Step back into North Carolina Colonial times, be inspired by the representation of Colonial life at the beautiful landscape of the Tar River, NC. Let us all paint Plein-Air, create your craft,
jewelry, leather making etc.

When: Saturday, October 26, 2019
Time: Set up 9:00am, people visit 10am to 4pm.
Location: River Bend Park, Louisburg, NC

To the participant artists:

We are trying to go back in time and create the environment of the brave colonial artists. Girls in long dresses or skirts with white blouses. Guys, old pants.

Please be there at 9:00am to set up your working space. Bring a table or an easel with legs and an old chair. Cover your table and chair with a quilt or an old piece of material.
