The essence of painting a portrait is the expression of the eyes. Eyes express the spirit of the person, their personalities, what makes them happy and sad, and the love and caring for others and themselves. When I start painting a person, I like to talk to them and to get to know them. Usually, I start from a photo. Nevertheless, by looking at the person, I capture their fundamental nature, especially through the expression of the eyes.
